RECORD NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IN PROGRAM FOR NEWCOMERS
Amongst the thousands of students getting ready to start the new school term are a record number for whom it will be their first time going to school in Canada. To help these children transition to a new school experience Edmonton Catholic Schools has offered One World, One Centre, a resource for newly arrived families. As part of the program, students take an assessment test, and parents are given a run through of what to expect from the school. They also receive school supplies.
