MARATHON OF HOPE & INSPIRATION
It was 43 years ago that Terry Fox began what would become know as the Marathon of Hope in St. John's Nfld. We lived in British Columbia at the time and the local news carried updates everyday and those soon the National networks began to cover Terry Fox's arduous run as well. Terry Fox started his journey as an unknown, quickly became a hometown and national hero and then a global inspiration.
Today also marks the day people can register for the annual for the annual Terry Fox Run which has raised over over $850 million dollars for cancer research. This years Dear Terry" shirts was designed with the help of Ryan Reynolds and the Fox family and has already raised $1 million for cancer research in just two months.
