HOMELESS JUST RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL WILL SOON HAVE A TEMPORARY HOME TO GO TO
Alberta Health Services and Jasper Place Wellness Centre have combined efforts to create the Bridge Healing Transitional Accommodation Program, the first of its kind in Canada. They are soon to open a 36 bed temporary home for homeless people who have just been released from the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The aim is while individuals are in the home for a month or so they will also get the support they need to improve their lives and find permanent housing. If the pilot project works in Edmonton it could be implemented elsewhere in the province and beyond.
