EDMONTON COUPLE REAPING GREEN
Mike and Becky Newhook had no farming experience until 2018 when they were in the Philippines helping some friends with their farming operation. Mike suggested his friend try aquaponics farming and when he was back home in Tolfield in 2020 Mike began experimenting with hydroponics and vertical gardening. The experiment proved successful and Vertical Roots Canada was born, followed by a move to Edmonton. The Newhooks are now looking to expand their business across Canada through franchising. What began with green problem led to a green solution and is now a very successful green business.
