It took about 5 months and $60,000 for the City to find out "sometimes its best to leave well enough alone". In terms of projects this one was relatively inexpensive but hopefully the lessons learned will be worth it. One of the most important lessons which seems to reoccur is the importance of community consultation and involvement. It seems all levels of government are having to learn that the grassroots are tired of being trampled upon by overreaching bureaucratic overlords.
