Hockey fans in Edmonton have had the privilege of watching some of the greatest hockey players of this modern era. First were those who played with Wayne Gretzky in the Stanley Cup years and most recently are those playing with Connor McDavid who was recognized at he NHL awards last evening. No doubt those wards mean much to Connor but I beleive he and and the rest of the Oilers have another award, the Stanley Cup, in  mind as they think of the 2023/2024 season. Lets go Connor! Lets go Oilers!

Yes, its only the first game of a long season but the Oilers seemed to get the opening night jitters out of the way and loosened up enough to score a 5-3 come from behind victory over the Vancouver Canucks. Connor McDavid led the way with 3 goals and an assist.
