The old lodge/shack of the Edmonton Ski club was put to rest last October. The City committed $800,000 to demolish the old lodge and erection of a temporary lodge and washrooms in August. These are to be replaced with a new facility in by 2026.
Hopefully ski season is still a few months away but Edmonton Ski club may not reopen if if the city doesn’t offer up $800,000 over three years to keep it running. Without the injection of much needed cash there would be no washrooms or a warming station.
Over the years many people learned to ski at the Edmonton Ski club and it would be sad to see it close.
