One of the realities that the anti oil movement has overlooked is the growing role plastics play in everyday life. Owner and operator Inter Pipeline Ltd foresaw the global need for plastics and began constructing the Heartland Petrochemical Complex in 2018. When fully operational the new complex will employ about 300 people and will convert Alberta propane into 525,000 tonnes of polypropylene beads annually.
