It seems that construction on the Anthony Henday never stopped and it continues today and will do so into 2023. Widening the freeway from four to six lanes has been delayed at the bridge and will not be completed until next year meaning continued delays for those traveling the Henday.
One of the commuters,Yvette Nault-Swinerd, who has long experienced delays on the Anthony Henday voiced what countless others have thought, "we always build towards today, we don't build towards the future".
Edmonton’s 13 kilometer Valley Line Southeast LRT was originally scheduled to open late 2020 but that was delayed and rescheduled again and again. and now is scheduled to open sometime this summer, but no specific date has been announced as yet.As I understand it it there won't be controlled crossings (crossing arms, gates or bells) at intersections.I'm not a pessimist but I wonder if the lack of controlled crossings is an accident waiting to happen?
