There has been a growing number of Comunity Gardens since Covid and many of the gardens donate some, while others donate all of their produce to the food banks.Fresh produce is a healthy addition to anyone's diet but it costly to purchase so the fresh produce donations are really appreciated.

AS inflation causes food prices to continue to increase the number of people who can't keep up with the rising prices is also increasing,as is food insecurity. Food bank only scratch the surface of food insecurity in Canada

Individuals and food banks across Canada, including in Edmonton are experiencing the effects of rising food prices due to inflation. This is especially worrisome for those that depend on help from the Food Bank since the Food Bank is also experiencing the spin off effect of inflation.
