Reading the article below reminded me of an old western movie, THE SHOOT OUT AT THE OK CORRAL. Edmonton is in the west but the increased use of gun crimes makes it seem we are in the wild west. Between Friday and Sunday, there were two shootings in central Edmonton, two in north Edmonton and one in the city’s southwest.

EPS has just announced 62 officers wil be deployed to join existing patrols. This strategy is intended to increase police presence and hopefully decrease crime throughout the city.

There has been over 200% rise in the number of catalytic converter thefts the last 3 years. To counter that EPS announced a $50,000 reward to the entrepreneur or entrepreneurs who come up with a viable method of preventing catalytic converter thefts. 

Although I don't have a solution I sense it is going going to be easy and simple rather than difficult and complicated. $50,000 is a pretty decent sum and well worth giving a few minutes thoughts to.
