World Cup Soccer is the most watched event in sports and Edmonton may be one of the Canadian cities to host one of the games in the 2026 games. Edmonton loves soccer and I'm certain Commonwealth Stadium would be filled to overflowing with fans from Edmonton and beyond. It would put Edmonton in the soccer spotlight and generate millions of dollars of revenue for local businesses.

PulseMedica, a UofA spinoff has been working on a new way to treat patients with major eye diseases. They have now received a $2.6-million seed round of funding for its first clinical trial on 10 to 15 patients in Edmonton who have diabetic retinopathy. The additional funding will enable PulseMedica to complete their special equipment, add to their team and take a major step to the world stage.
