It took the threat of the Provincial government overreach to pressure city council to scrap the mandatory mask bylaw on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how many people continue to wear masks even though its no longer mandatory to do so.
It was inevitable that there would be pushback to Edmonton city council's decision to keep the mask mandate restriction in place while Albertans everywhere else are able to to be mask less if they so choose.
Alberta Institute has created a petition to counter the city's online survey asking Edmontonians what they think about the mandate. Alberta Institute writes "These surveys are usually full of activists trying to push an agenda, so this time why don't we make sure that Council hears from as many different Edmontonians as possible about how it's time to repeal the mask mandate now."
