The last decade Canada has produced a number of world class tennis players, most who have come from Toronto or Montreal. The UofA has now opened the Saville Tennis Centre new year-round tennis facility offering 6 new courts for UofA students and on a pay-and-play for the public public from September to May. The new courts will give the varsity team more practice courts and enable them to host more tournaments as well as being a big boost for the tennis community in Edmonton. Ultimately it is hoped the Saville Tennis Centre will help produce some world class tennis players from the UofA and Edmonton.
