For the past four years 3 of the 4 the corners of 99th Street and 89 Avenue have sat vacant nd become an eyesore for residents of the area. The Wild Earth Bakery and grocery store was knocked down to make way for 1932 by Bateman,  a proposed apartment building but remains a boarded up property. Todd Cleaners across the street shut down because of soil contamination and about the same time the the former Catholic Social Services building shut down.

1932 by Bateman is up for Judicial sale so it hopefully will receive a new lease on life for the neighbourhood soon. Todd Cleaners sat empty until the Colombian Coffee Bar & Roastery moved into one half of the historic building recently and Beljan Developments purchased the former Catholic Social Services for complete renovation to be completed summer of next year.
