For years the city has undertaken construction projects without reimbursing businesses for financial losses incurred due to those projects. On Wednesday City councillor Andrew Knack is expected to move a motion that the city compensate businesses for financial losses due to city construction projects.
My previous post was about Wyvern Space an Edmonton company that is soon to launch its first satellite, a space age story.
City Councilors Keren Tang, Ward Karhiio and Andrew Knack, councillor for Nakota Isga, asked residents to apply for a $2000 grant for local projects. When the submissions were all in, the public voted on them and 23 were chosen, all with ideas for what the public considered were "well grounded" ideas that should be tried.
This is a great idea whose time has come and hopefully will be just the beginning. Hats off to Councillors Tang and Knack, the 23 winners and all who submitted proposals and the public who voted.
