The local branch of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress went public with their request for the Russian pavilion not be allowed at this year's Edmonton Heritage Days. No doubt the request will find many in agreement and whatever the Heritage Festival Association decides will generate much press and probably fuel further animosity.
How much better would it be for the Ukrainian Canadian Congress to remove their request and instead extend a hand of peace and voluteer to help the #HertitageDaysFestivalRussians with their pavilion. What a Godly gesture and example that would be!

Since the invasion of Ukraine last February there has been an influx Ukrainian newcomers who have fled the conflict and moved to Edmonton. They come to Edmonton needing everything to establish a new household including furniture. The Boilermakers Lodge 146 has donated a warehouse for Ukrainian Canadian Congress to use as a donation depot from which they've served these newcomers. The depot serves numerous families every week and now having a donation blitz to replenish these essentials for newcomers.
