For years the residents of "candy cane lane" have decorated their homes and yards for the Christmas season. Over the years the residents of this neighbourhood opened themselves up to hundred of thousands of people who have come by to enjoy their efforts, expense, creativity and hospitality. 

It would be understandable if the residents of Candy Cane Lane thought the city sent a grinch to deliver door-hanger warnings to 65 of them on January 12.
