It hard to imagine how difficult it must be to leave family, friends and the familiarity of home to travel to a foreign land but that is what many young children have done when they left war torn Ukraine.The Canadian Society of Ukrainians from the former Yugoslavia created a program to take newly-arrived Ukrainian youth out to enjoy fun events and activities. One such outing was on Friday when a group of about 70 young people got to enjoy a day spent at Snow Valley. Events like Friday's and being welcomed and loved by Edmontonians plus time will help heal the hurts and dim the horrors of war.
