WHERE THERE ARE FOREST FIRES THERE ARE FIRE FIGHTERS
Alberta has had an unprecedented number of forest fires thus far and its still early in the season. Hundred of homes and buildings have been destroyed, communities have been evacuated and the smoke from these fires has been seen and experienced locally and thousands of miles away.
The Canadian Interagency Fire Fighting Centre (CIFFC) has received help from more than 2,500 firefighters from Canada, United States, South Africa New Zealand, Chile and Costa Rica who have come to our rescue and to them we offer our collective gratitude .
