WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CITY HAS MOVED TO UofA CAMPUS
Unlike the saying "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas", what happens in the city core has moved to the UofA campus and has raised the concern of students and security staff. The UofA Safety and Security Committee that regularly assesses the successes, challenges and current state of safety and security across the U of A’s campuses says the current situation is similar to the social disorder seen around the city. There was a 33% increase in reported incidents in January 2023 compared to pre-pandemic stats for the same period. Something needs to be done but just is as puzzling for the UofA as it is for the City.
