THE MCDADES
We went to see the McDades with the Edmonton Symphony last night with some dear friends. I'd never heard about the McDades until a couple of months ago and until just before intermission thought they were from the maritimes. My wife did a search and finds out they are from Edmonton as was conformed by Shannon, the Empress herself.🙂Â
We love Robin Marks who plays Celtic gospel and thought we'd hear similar music but were we wrong. What we heard was the Celtic roots but played with what I'd say was more of a jazz style. The McDades are talented musicians and I especially thought Jeremiah McDade was fantastic in whatever wind instrument he played and he's got a powerful voice as well.
