NO WORLD CUP MATCHES HERE

Edmonton has great soccer fans and I'm certain the stadium could have been filled to overflowing for any of the 2026 World Cup matches but the powers that be decided Edmonton's bid was not to be. I'm not certain where or when but I heard a comment on the radio a few days ago saying there were 3 strikes workijng against the Edmonton bid. The 3 were (not in any particular order) 1. lack of international flights, 2. hotels and 3. state of commonwealth stadium.
