PRICE FOR THE LONG OVERDUE 50 ST RAIL CROSSING KEEPS INCREASING

The original estimated cost for the 50th St. rail crossing was projected to be $145.3 million. The recommended tender bid received was $179.6 million, $34.3 million higher than the estimated construction budget. The longer construction waits to begin the greater the toll inflation and supply chain issues will have on the complete project cost.
