WHY IS THE UCP HELPING FUND CALGARY'S NEW ARENA?

When discussions were underway about funding for what is now Roger's Place the Alberta Progressive Conservative governments of the day refused to help fund the project. Now the UCP is willing to help fund Calgary's new arena and possibly phase 2 of the area surrounding Rogers Place in downtown Edmonton.
