CITY OWNED HOUSING UNITS IN DIRE NEED OF REPAIRS and/or RENOVATIONS
We have children who live in New York and London and there are areas in both cities that have housing that has been neglected and not maintained. In New York they are referred to as tenements and in London as Council Housing.
The City of Edmonton owns 952 Civida managed units which have a 50-year life expectancy and over 90% of the units have been deemed to be in poor to fair condition which if not addressed will become derelict and need to be demolished. If not they will become like NYC's tenements and London's Council Housing.
