EDMONTON FACING COMMUNITY LEAGUE CRISIS

Edmonton is a longstanding leader when it comes to building strong communities and a huge part of that is the network of community leagues and their community halls. Time takes its toll on man made structures and the 126 community leagues with halls, which now carry an average age of 48 years are beginning to show their age. Many community halls are in need of immediate renovation and most in need of repairs, all which amount to a huge cash outlay.

When I think of the number of people served year round by Edmonton's community leagues compared to $100M budgeted for bike lane improvements it makes me question the priorities of Mayor Sohi and City council.

Do you think the priority should be improvements for cyclists or community league facilities?
